Physical Therapists
Physical Therapists (PT's) help patients, who are limited or disabled by physical injuries, work to restore their strength and mobility through exercise, massages, and other methodologies. In fact, PT's can help patients alleviate pain and restore their injured muscles with specialized techniques and equipment. Furthermore, they coach patients with transfer techniques and guidelines for walking.
Occupational Therapists
Occupational Therapy and Occupational Therapists (OT's) center around patients with physical, developmental, social, or emotional troubles that prevent them from performing the general tasks of daily living. For that reason, OT's instruct patients on specialized rehabilitation techniques and equipment to improve their function in daily living activities. For instance, they help and instruct patient's with eating, bathing, dressing, and in performing basic household practices.
Speech Therapists
Usually caused by a traumatic event like a surgery or stroke, individuals can develop communication disorders. For those reasons, Speech Therapists (ST's) work with these patients to develop and restore their speech. Additionally, ST's may need to retrain patients in breathing, swallowing, and muscle control.
